There is one simple statement I really must share with the community. Hardcore yaoi content is 18+ content, so please, please do not share it with those under 18, because if you do no matter where in the world you might live you are putting yourself at risk of consequences that happen all too often in the yaoi community.
It’s story time from yours truly Mistress of Yaoi with a word of caution to my fellow fujoshi. Over the years I have been a part of many different communities online, most of them being anime ones. There have also been times when I have had to step back from various communities because one thing has become clear to me. There are many yaoi communities online that have at times had an influx of members that really should not be part of these communities. I do not care about how mature you think you are, if you are under 18 and have an interest in boys love and yaoi you need to be very careful with what content within the community you view. As for the older members you need to be careful with who you share hardcore content with. The distribution of pornographic content of any kind to a minor can have dire consequences that can have you labeled as a pedophile for sharing such content with minors.
im not trying to justify anything bc i completely agree but it’s hard to monitor this online (who hasn’t faked a birthday?). when i was younger than 18 i was already reading some yaoi, maybe nothing super *hardcore* (as i later learned about some of this stuff) but it had sex, sometimes uncensored. and sometimes i’d get this stuff directly from the publishers. i mean, who checks IDs when you buy online? or maybe you mean us Knowing that the person we’re interacting w is a minor and still sharing the content (i don’t really ask for ppls ages when i’m online but i also don’t share 18+ work, not so much bc i’m worried about their age but more so bc it’s NSFW content)

Yeah it’s the knowing part and still sharing I am getting at because it has happened to me in the past

I can’t really understand some people… I did get +18 content without being 18 (faked birthday online of course), but I never had someone giving it to me knowing that I was underage… I don’t really understand why someone would do that in the first place Oo

That is why I try to remember to add “18+” in the title when I feature NSFW dj on my blog, also When I pick a pic as example I only go for the one we see nothing.

Yessss. I have serious issues when people don’t put up warnings on their work because I’m not yet 18 and I’m honestly not that keen in reading open sex. Implied is another thing but…

I completely agree! Bring 17 I honestly find serious issues when the right warnings are not given for manga titles. I’ve stopped upon yaoi by mistake while slice of life BL was tagged as warning…
